How do you even imagine that would work? And now, of course, people start crying that their computers got infected with malware. Which is great - every genius who fell for this obvious phishing scam deserved it. I hope your shitty computer burns and you along with it.

The trailer to "Equestria Girls" (the humanized MLP spinoff film) finally was released today. Aaaannnd everyone's freaking out. Again.
You know, it actually looks pretty decent. Bronies... please understand: I know you're a major unexpected demographic for the show. I know you enjoy seeing shout-out's become canon within the show, and appreciate how the creators do little things here and there for you. But... the show isn't made for you. This is not Cartoon Network and the target demographic isn't 25 year olds in college. You're a nice addition to the target demographic of little girls, but you are not the driving force behind MLP.
I don't want this to sound mean, but it needs to be said. This is where it becomes very important to understand the fine line between being a fan of the show and thinking that because you've invested so much energy into the show that you're entitled to things.

Opinions are a Dangerous thing: Art StylesThis isn't about narking on anyone no, infact this is just my own muses really! You could say this is a journal for ENCOURAGEMENT! *SHINES*
I find sticking to one style restrictive if you are a beginning/moderate artist! (even professionals I might say! though I can't speak for everyone)
Having a distinctive look on how your art is done and produced is understandable and its a desire to appear unique to the point some one can just SEE your work and instantly think 'Oh! that's Ten-days!' or something along the line. However, when you are trying to find who you are and what kind of art you are to produce, I recommend trying, well, a lot of different things! Different styles, mixing styles, different colouring techinque, brushes, tools, shading. Don't feel dependant on what you are already doing and don't feel pressured by people just for trying new things!
Push out of your comfort zone. Can't draw hands? don't avoid it! draw the heck out of them! (how else are you going to learn?)

I'm in the middle of orgainzing the gallery folders and I was wondering what you guys think of the "Showcase" folder. Do you guys like it, or do you want me to remove it? Do you think it's fair, or should all the artwork go into the "Featured" gallery instead?

I'l make a decision based on what you guys say.

I don't really like the showcase, but it's hard to articulate why. o.o I guess because it's so heavily opinion based.

It would be great if there were organized folders based on image themes like what Kracov was stating. It would help viewers pick what kind of images they want to look at instead of sifting through the bloody swamp that's the gallery at the moment.

I pretty much feel indifferent to it. If its there, great, if it isn't, I wouldn't mind. It is kind of nice to have a folder to separate quality between, say, a beginning artist and a more advanced artist, but ultimately once someone has obtained a comfortable skill level, its all in the eyes of the beholder.

I don't have an opinion on this, whatever the group decides is fine with me. I see it as, Great Art is merely someone's opinion. Frankly, if Picasso were on deviant, I wouldn't look at his stuff twice, but that's my opinion...what is great to some may not be to all.

As it stands, it may not be clear what the difference is between featured and showcase.

BTW, you might want to take my "The Bad Place" out of photo manips. The background is a photo collage, but the figure itself is entirely painted, I didn't even use refs.

Well. Given that there isn't half as much content in the showcase folder as the featured folder, you may as well blend the two.
Not to mention, 'featured' sounds as sweet as 'showcase' anyway.
