This is cross-posted from my personal journal:

I was a little late in hearing about this project, it was either in 2006 or 2007 when I first saw the teaser trailer ~ABrownrigg made.  I joined the Pack's message boards, but I'm not much of a message board person and never said much. But I was excited nonetheless about there being a new werewolf film in the works, like I always am.

But then I met some of the so-called "fanatics" of this film, a film that had not even been made yet, who almost put me off of this project for good. People who only envision werewolves to be docile lap-dogs who have nothing better to do all day than sit on mountaintops and braid their flowing "mane" hairs. People who were dead-set on neutering the once great beast that bred fear in the minds of primal human beings.

And I'll admit it, I let these people get the better of me and I said some nasty things about this project. I am ashamed that I let the fans of something influence my opinion so much, something I try not to do. Even though it can be very... Difficult.

So I commented on ~ABrownrigg 's DA page, asking him for some hope that I might be wrong, that Freeborn didn't leave out the horror elements of a good werewolf movie, and that it wouldn't be just a movie only furries could enjoy. He reassured me that he had a video to smooth all of the controversies about the film over. Here is the video in question: [link]

So please, watch the video, and if you think this movie might be something you'd be interested in seeing, consider making a donation to the Freeborn IndieGoGO page,  here: [link]

I don't know why people keep saying its a furry movie, or a sappy film. The romance is just one of the sub-plots, and the script has got more gore and violence than American werewolf in London. The only thing the fans wanted that's different than most is werewolves that A) look like bipedal wolves instead of mutants (they will also be able to go full wolf), and B) have a choice whether to be dicks or not.

Awesome! You can count me in then! The original legend of the werewolf has him bipedal and eight feet tall!

what legend? other than a few woodcuts and novels in the 18th century, werewolves the world over are depicted as men who turn into wolves. it's universal in folklore and mythology. Men into Wolves, sometimes a little bigger than normal.

German gypsy lore. Look it up. This is no hour for me to explain anything

You'll have to be more specific than "german gypsy". Gypsy is a term usually used to describe the Romani peoples, who originated in india and spread throughout europe. They had several werewolf beliefs, most of which involved a relation to vampires. (they also believed in vampire watermelons, which is just wierd), all of their werewolves turned into regular bloodthirsty wolves. I'm not trying to be a know-it-all, or refute your claim, but I've never heard of bipedal werewolves in traditional folklore, and I'm really interested. There are of course, myths and tales that involve the werewolf standing up, though its still a wolf, just on it's hind-legs.
